Brown ground beef and onion in a large pot over medium high heat until no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
Stir in garlic and Italian seasoning. Add diced tomatoes, chicken broth, half and half or cream, and gnocchi to the pan it stir well. Once the sauce starts to slowly boil, cover pan and reduce heat to medium and cook apprx 5 min (or as long as gnocchi package states)
Uncover pan, stir and let it sit until gnocchi has cooked through and the sauce has slightly thickened
Stir in parmesan cheese, salt and pepper as desired. Serve immediately.
