Creamed Chicken Over Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups heavy cream or 2% milk if looking to reduce calories
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp ground black pepper or more to taste
  • 3 cups cooked chopped chicken
  • Optional:
  • 2 cups frozen vegetables thawed and drained (peas or pea and carrots are our favorite)
  • cooked biscuits of choice store bought or 7up Biscuits from our blog work well

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a large sauce pan over medium heat.
  • Stir in flour, add in chicken broth, cream, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix well and cook until thickened.
  • Stir in chicken and optional vegetables if using.
  • Heat through and serve over hot cooked biscuits
