Simple Sweet Scones

Ingredients
  • 2½ cups flour
  • 1 Tbs baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 8 Tbs cold unsalted butter, sliced
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ⅔ cup milk
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 425 degrees
  2. Put flour, baking powder and salt into a large bowl; stir until well mixed.
  3. Add butter and cut in with a pastry blender until mixture looks like fine crumbs
  4. Add sugar and mix well
  5. Place dough on a floured surface and knead gently until the dough comes together in a ball
  6. Roll into a circle about 1½ inches thick and cut circle into 6-8 wedges
  7. Baste wedges with a bit of milk and sprinkle 1-2 teaspons sugar on top
  8. Place wedges on an ungreased cookie sheet slightly apart
  9. Bake approximately 12 minutes or until golden brown on top
  10. Eat plain or with a frosting/glaze of choice
