Simple Sweet Scones

- 2½ cups flour
- 1 Tbs baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 8 Tbs cold unsalted butter, sliced
- ⅓ cup sugar
- ⅔ cup milk
- Heat oven to 425 degrees
- Put flour, baking powder and salt into a large bowl; stir until well mixed.
- Add butter and cut in with a pastry blender until mixture looks like fine crumbs
- Add sugar and mix well
- Place dough on a floured surface and knead gently until the dough comes together in a ball
- Roll into a circle about 1½ inches thick and cut circle into 6-8 wedges
- Baste wedges with a bit of milk and sprinkle 1-2 teaspons sugar on top
- Place wedges on an ungreased cookie sheet slightly apart
- Bake approximately 12 minutes or until golden brown on top
- Eat plain or with a frosting/glaze of choice
