Simple Beef and Broccoli
 
 
Easy and delicious Chinese meal at home.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb boneless round steak or sirloin steak cut into think 3-inch strips
  • 1 Tbs olive oil
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • ½ small onion, cut into wedges (optional)
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • Sauce/Marinade (amounts below for 1 batch, will use two batches total)
  • ⅓ cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 2 Tbs brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • hot cooked rice
Instructions
  1. Make up a batch of the sauce above by combining soy sauce, brown sugar and ground ginger. Pour over steak strips and allow to marinate a minimum of 2 hours up to 24 hours.
  2. Heat large skillet or wok on medium-high heat and add in streak and sauce and cook until reaches desired doneness. Remove from pan and set aside
  3. Add 1 Tbs olive oil to pan and stir fry the broccoli and onion for approx. 4-5 minutes. Add in minced garlic and stir fry for another minute or two.
  4. Return beef to skillet and make another batch of sauce (soy sauce, brown sugar and ginger) and pour over beef, broccoli and onions. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
  5. Serve over rice.
