Serves: 4-6 servings
Ingredients
  • 4-6 steaks (We use New York Strip, Rib Eye, or Filet)
  • For the marinade:
  • 1 t. ground ginger
  • 1 t. dry mustard
  • 1 T. molasses or sugar
  • ½ c. soy sauce
  • ¼ c. salad oil (canola)
  • 3 cloves, minced garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Garlic Butter:
  • ½ c. unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 T. minced fresh thyme or 1 ½ t. dried
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-2 dashes of Tabasco sauce
Instructions
  1. Mix marinade ingredients together. Pour over meat and marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight. (The longer you marinate, the more tender and flavorful).
  2. Sprinkle both sides of meat with salt and pepper.
  3. Prepare a charcoal, gas, or indoor grill over medium-high heat. Grill steaks directly, turning 2 to 3 times, until well browned on the outside, 8-12 minutes total or to desired temperature. Transfer to a platter, cover with aluminum foil, and let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. While steak is resting, mix ingredients for Garlic Butter. Spoon 1-2 T. of the flavored butter on top of each steak and serve.
