7 Minute Chili

Yummy hearty, easy meal for a chili evening! :)

Serves: 8-10 servings
Ingredients
  • 1-2 lbs. of ground beef
  • ½ C chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • S & P to taste
  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 can of chili beans or black beans
  • 1 large can of tomato juice or 2 quarts home canned tomato juice
  • 1 pinch sugar
Instructions
  1. In a big kettle:
  2. Turn burner to High and brown 1-2 lbs of ground beef. (If frozen I will stick the package of hamburger in the microwave and hit "high" for about 2 minutes.)
  3. Brown ½ C chopped onion with it.
  4. S & P to taste
  5. Add ¼ C water to scrape all the browning off the bottom of the pot.
  6. Add 1-2 t of chili powder, or 3 or 4
  7. Add:
  8. can of chili beans or black beans. (Personally, I think any kind of beans would probably work. :) )
  9. can of chopped tomatoes with green chilies
  10. large can of tomato juice or 2 quarts of home canned, which I always used to have on my basement shelf...........:(..............I'm lazy now.
  11. pinch of sugar.....maybe 1 t. (Shhhhhh....this is the secret indredient)
  12. Bring almost to a boil.....then turn to low and serve it up!
