Ingredients
  • Mix together:
  • 4 slices soft bread cubed or torn
  • ¾c. milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Add:
  • 1½ - 2lb. ground beef
  • ¼ - ⅓ c. chopped onion
  • ¼ c. finely chopped celery
  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ t. salt
  • ⅛ t. pepper
  • For glaze:
  • ½ c. ketchup
  • 2 T corn syrup
Instructions
  1. Soak bread in milk.
  2. Beat in eggs.
  3. Add meat, onion, celery, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Form into two loaves and place in loaf pans or place in one 9 x 13 pressing flat.
  6. Bake uncovered 1 hour at 350 degrees.
  7. For glaze:
  8. Mix and spread on top - bake 10 min longer after the first 60 minutes.
