Snickerdoodles

- 1 C soft shortening (part butter)
- 1½ c sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2¾ c all-purpose flour
- 1 t baking soda
- 2 t cream of tartar
- ¼ t salt
- Mixture for rolling:
- 3 T sugar
- 3 t cinnamon
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Cream butter and sugar
- Add eggs, 1 at a time, and beat til light anf fluffy
- Add flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt.
- Roll into balls, about the size of a black walnut.
- In a separate bowl, toss the sugar and cinnamon together. Add balls to mixture, 2 or 3 at a time, then place on cookie sheet ½" apart.
- Bake for 10-12 min. Cool on rack.
