Ingredients
  • 1 C soft shortening (part butter)
  • 1½ c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2¾ c all-purpose flour
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 2 t cream of tartar
  • ¼ t salt
  • Mixture for rolling:
  • 3 T sugar
  • 3 t cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Cream butter and sugar
  3. Add eggs, 1 at a time, and beat til light anf fluffy
  4. Add flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt.
  5. Roll into balls, about the size of a black walnut.
  6. In a separate bowl, toss the sugar and cinnamon together. Add balls to mixture, 2 or 3 at a time, then place on cookie sheet ½" apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 min. Cool on rack.
