GiGi's Old Fashioned Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients
  • ⅔ cup shortening (butter, margarine etc)
  • 2⅔ cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 15 oz can pumpkin
  • ⅔ cup water
  • 3⅓ cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • ⅔ cup nuts, optional (I use walnuts)
  • ⅔ cup raisins, optional
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Mix together shortening, sugar, eggs, pumpkin and wateruntil well blended
  3. In seperate bowl mix dry ingredients together (flour, soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon)
  4. Pour dry ingredients in with pumpkin mixture and mix well. Henry fold in nuts and raisins of using.
  5. Spray two loaf pans with cooking spray. Bake for 60-65 minutes. Until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
