Ingredients
  • For cake:
  • 2 C sugar
  • 3 C flour
  • 2 t soda
  • ½ t salt
  • ½ C cocoa
  • 2 C water
  • 1 C vegetable oil
  • 2 T white vinegar
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • For frosting:
  • 2¾ C confectioners' sugar
  • 6 T cocoa
  • 6 T butter, soft
  • 5 T milk
  • 1 t vanilla extract
Instructions
  1. Cake:Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, mix sugar, flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa. Add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla. Beat by hand until smooth. Pour into a 9x13 inch pan. Bake.Cool completely and frost with Creamy Chocolate Frosting.
  2. Frosting: In a medium bowl, stir together sugar and cocoa, and set aside. In large bowl, cream butter til smooth, ; gradually beat in sugar mixture alternately with milk. Blen in vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy. If necessary, adjust with more milk or sugar.
